DELIVERIES CLOSED FOR THIS WEEK - CURRENTLY GETTING READY FOR THE LAST WEDDING OF 2018

10-08-18 // Jodie + Josh

Jodie is the kind of bride that any florist wishes for.

A bride so relaxed + trusting.

It probably also helped that Jodie + I have know each other for a long while through the friendship of her bridesmaid / one my best friends, Emma.

Our bridal consult was over dinner at Emma's where she showed me a few photos of past Nesst Weddings. Essentially, we came up with a colour palette / vibe + Jodie let me / Mother Nature pave the way for what would actually be used for her + Josh's special day.

The Berker's wedding was very Australiana Boho. Being that the nuptials + reception were both taking place at Josh's family property, not much stylistically was necessarily needed but the balloon art from Ruby Ju brought a crisp white pop to the beauty of the natural surroundings.

There were DIY elements; the shed being transformed into the dance barn, a family member took cuttings from around the property for their table / dry bar arrangements, the platter + so forth.

I had the pleasure of creating the flower particulars + clustering spinning eucalyptus around the reception space. The bouquets were created with a perfect mix of delicate blooms in terms of Roses, Stock, Blushing Bride etc + sculptural natives like closed up King Proteas, White Ice Proteas, Banksias, filler flowers like Heath + Geraldton Wax + dried touches of Bunny Tails, Cotton, Teasel, Treated Pampas Grass, Wheat + Paper Daisies.

Jodie + Josh, what a pleasure it was to be a small part of your big day.

I asked Jodie to provide me with their Wedding Vendor information + to answer some questions.. You can find these below.

QUESTIONS

How did you + Josh meet?
Through mutual friends.

Tell us about your proposal?
Josh planned a surprise weekend away in Berry, NSW (we were living in Sydney at the time).  We stayed at the amazing Mat Hay Retreat…. Josh kept asking to go for a walk or have a picnic but it was sooo windy i kept refusing. We ended up making a platter and watching the sunset on our balcony, Josh asked me to marry him there.

Your favourite thing about your Wedding day?
A month before our wedding, our beautiful dog of 13 years sadly passed away. We were absolutely devastated he wouldn’t be there with us so we really wanted him to be included on the day.  we decided to honour Rusty by spreading his ashes at the park he loved to play in and have this captured by our photographers and videographer.  In the afternoon sun, down by the little creek, we said our goodbye to Rusty and spread his ashes.......and of course having all our friends and family in one spot being able to celebrate together.

What does love mean to you?
Love is about sharing your bed and ALL your personal space but also sharing all of those personal moments you wouldn’t want to share with anyone else.

What made you chose Nesst for your Wedding florist?
Was the easiest decisions of all the vendors! I always knew I wanted Ness to do my flowers, her style and creativity to put things together is so unique and wonderful! ... she is also a legend of a person ;)

When you think of your bouquet, what part gave you love heart eyes?
I gave Ness free reign with my flowers with little information about what i wanted and she did not disappoint.  The moment I set eyes on them on my wedding day I was blown away and I still am months on when I look at them in my house. I love them.
